Features: Sportsmanship: Our camp culture prizes sportsmanship, highlighted by our daily sportsperson awards and weekly CSS Cup. Join Dr. Katherine Gergen Barnett, family medicine physician, nationally recognized health equity leader, and trusted voice on the future of American health care, for a powerful and reflective talk on what hospice teaches us about caring for one another when it matters most. Drawing on decades of leadership in whole-person care, equity, and health system reform, as well as her personal experience with Good Shepherd Community Care during her father, Commentator and former White House Communications Director,&nbsp;David Gergen's&nbsp;final year, Dr. Gergen Barnett will explore how compassion, trust, and community can transform the patient and family experience and guide us toward a more humane and just health care system.

Passion, politics, and pulse-pounding rhythm collide! Martín Palmeri’s “Misatango” electrifies the Latin Mass with fiery Argentinian “new tango,” blending chorus, bandoneón, and strings in a bold, emotional ride that has energized audiences on several continents. By embedding tango’s harmonic language, rhythms, and melodic designs in the orchestra, Palmeri frees the chorus to simply “sing the Mass”, plunging the audience into a world of uplifting emotions, passion, and syncopation.
Opening the concert is Lamentations of the Prophet Jeremiah by Alberto Ginastera, an intense work written in exile in 1946. Setting Latin texts from the Book of Lamentations and with dissonant harmonies, jagged rhythms, and stark contrasts, Ginasteri’s music expresses profound sorrow and spiritual desolation.
Adding to the verve of the Latin American program are scintillating dance performances by Boston-based tangueros, curated by bandoneonist Alex Roitman and accompanied by a tango instrumental ensemble. With mezzo-soprano Laura Beth Couch and bandoneonist Alex Roitman.
