Film Showing of Budrus

The local group of Amnesty International will show the film Budrus.  Budrus tells the story of Ayed Morrar, a Palestinian community organizer, who unites local Fatah and Hamas members along with Israeli supporters in an unarmed movement to save his village of Budrus from destruction by Israel's Separation Barrier.  The Watertown / Belmont group of Amnesty International has been working on behalf of Palestinian farmers in Jayyus, a similar town in Israeli occupied territory.  Because of the Israeli fence, many of the farmers in Jayyus have been denied regular access to their lands, which is the source of their livelihood.  The film will be followed by a discussion.
