The Watertown Environment and Energy Efficiency Committee will be showing the film, Gasland on June 16 at 6:45 in the Watertown Library. Gasland, which received a Special Jury Prize at Sundance in 2010, documents health and safety concerns of the Halliburton-developed drilling technology of hydraulic fracturing or "fracking," including a loophole in the 2005 Energy Bill that exempts gas drillers from EPA guidelines like the Clean Water Act. We hope to stimulate discussion after the film. As always, we'll have information on hand about energy efficiency and home weatherization. Check We3c.org for more information.
