Isabella Stewart Gardner (1840-1924) amassed a world-class art collection and founded the museum bearing her name. This walking tour, led by Robin Hazard Ray (a Mount Auburn Docent and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Volunteer), will visit Gardner’s family mauseoleum and the burial places of many of the dynamic personalities in her circle of acquaintance, including Julia Ward Howe, Henry Lee Higginson, and Charles Eliot Norton. Along the way, we’ll explore the life, times, and mind of this dynamic Bostonian.
