Japanese gardeners have been selecting from their local flora for at least a millenium and a half. Japanese botanists count more than 5,600 indigenous species of flowering plants and ferns, many of these being endemic (found nowhere else). This walk with Jim Gorman will feature some of the connoisseurs’ choices that we also have planted throughout our landscape.
