Filene's Basement in Arsenal Mall Reportedly Closing

The Filene's Basement at the Arsenal Mall will be closing by the end of the year, the Boston Globe reported Tuesday.

The Globe spoke with employees at a number of locations, and workers in four stores said their location would be closing around Christmas time. The parent company, Syms Corp. did not respond to the Globe's request for comment.

Other Filene's Basement stores to be closed, according to the Globe, are in Braintree, Peabody and Saugus. That would leave only three stores in the Bay State - Newton, Back Bay and Norwood.
