Watertown Commercial Building To Be Demolished After Fire
Emergency crews contained a fire on the roof of a Bridge Street warehouse.

WATERTOWN, MA – Emergency crews worked to extinguish a fire at a vacant commercial building in Watertown on Wednesday. The blaze was reported after 11:30 a.m. at 17 Bridge Street and prompted a response from crews in multiple communities.
Olympia Moving & Storage lists 17 Bridge Street as its address, but its building neighbors the vacant warehouse that caught on fire. Watertown Deputy Fire Chief Rob Iannetta told the Watertown TAB the warehouse was empty.
The fire was in the roof deck of the building and took about an hour to extinguish.

The warehouse was scheduled to be demolished next week, but Iannetta told the TAB it will be taken down now instead. The demolition process had already begun, and sparks caught the roof and interior insulation on fire, according to the TAB.
