Watertown Firefighter Spots Library Patron in the Act – a Lewd Act

A firefighter at the Main Street Fire Station got a view of something he did not want to see when he spotted a man pleasuring himself in a conference room at the Watertown Free Public Library.

The Fire Station looks across an alleyway into the side of the library, and the firefighter saw a man looking at pornography on a computer and masturbating on March 2 at 6:36 p.m., said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"We were contacted by an on-duty firefighter at the Main Street Fire Station saw a male acting inappropriately in one of the conference rooms at the library," Lawn said."He observed the male watching porn and masturbating inside the conference room."

When police arrived at the library they located the suspect in the teen section of the library, Lawn said. They found that he had been using a library-owned laptop computer to look at the porn.

Guershom G. Elan, 36, of 64 Lawn St. in Cambridge, was arrested on a charge of open and gross lewdness, Lawn said.
