Join the Watertown Commission on Disability (WCOD) for a special screening of the film “Going Blind: Coming Out of the Dark about Vision Loss”. Take time out of your busy schedule for this educational and illuminating film screening and learn more about the challenges facing members of our community with vision loss and the success that they have had in coping with these challenges.
As home to the Perkins School for the Blind and other organizations that further the cause of assisting and empowering those with disabilities, Watertown has a proud tradition of working with members of the disability community.
The event is free and open to the public. In addition to the screening, there will be a Q&A “Talkback” session immediately following the film, led by Commission on Disability member Judith Herzberg along with WCOD Chair Kim Charlson, who serves as the Director of the Perkins Library and is the first woman president of the American Council of the Blind.
Refreshments will be served and an American Sign Language interpreter has been provided by the Commission on Disability for those who might require special accommodations.
