Today is the World Cup final that - I read somewhere - will be watched by over 1 billion people! During the last month my team loyalties changed repeatedly. Having studied, lived, and worked in Switzerland for nearly 10 years, I really wanted Switzerland to get into the quarter finals.
But the US-Germany game was the hardest for me: Now in the US for over 40 years, I really wished for the US to succeed - but when Germany won, my German childhood roots quickly came to the surface. And now I can't wait to see who is going to win the World Cup today.
(I assume that others will have experienced changing loyalties as well?)
