IMAGE GALLERY: Watertown Students Get a Visit from Aquarium
Kids in the Watertown Recreation Department's vacation program got an up close look at some sea creatures.
Cassie Steen brought along some little friends from the New England Aquarium when she visited the Watertown Recreation Department's February Vacation program Thursday.
The children, who are in first through eighth grades, got a close look at some makeshift tide pools, which Steen – an educator with the Aquarium – said represent three different environments found on the Massachusetts shoreline – sandy beach, rocky shore and salt marsh.
The plastic containers were filled with crabs, starfish, clams, scallops and snails, but at the end Steen brought out one last animal - a horseshoe crab.
