Woman Fatally Hit By Truck, Driver Stabbed In Watertown: DA

A tow truck driver was stabbed several times by a man who is related to the victim, authorities said.

WATERTOWN, MA – A pedestrian died after she was hit by a truck in Watertown Square Wednesday. The driver of the truck was subsequently stabbed, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office.

Police responded to a reported road rage incident around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday and found a woman in her late 60s or early 70s struck by a flatbed tow truck, the DA said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the collision, a younger man believed to be related to the victim got into an altercation with the tow truck driver. The driver was stabbed about five times in the torso and hospitalized in critical condition, according to the DA.

A witness told the Boston Globe the man could be heard shouting, "You killed my mom!"

Authorities have not yet publicly identified anyone involved.
