Jazz and Bluesy Soul at the Arsenal Center

JAZZ @ The Arsenal presents a night of jazz and bluesy soul with the Jeannie Gagne Quartet,

JAZZ @ The Arsenal, a series with Berklee faculty-led bands, presents a night of jazz and bluesy soul with the Jeannie Gagne Quartet, Tuesday, October 14, at 7:30PM at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown. Described as an artist who sings from the depths of her soul with rare skill and passion, Gagne heads a band comprised of Jiri Nedoma, piano; John Baboian, guitar; Danny Morris, bass; Tony “Thunder” Smith, drum set.

Tickets are $20; $18 for members; $15 for students, plus fees. For tickets or more information, call the box office at 617-923-8487 or visit http://www.arsenalarts.org.

Gagné’s music is, in her own words: “a bit straight-ahead jazz, a bit bluesy soul, a bit thoughtful/spiritual stuff, and a little bit of edge for some sauce.” Groove and rhythm are a hallmark of a Gagné set, as she is also a pianist, composer and percussionist trained in West African drumming. Her seasoned rhythm section provides world-class musicianship. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAVfk0aJ_sY
