St. Brigid of Kildare among many things was known for her charitable heart and devotion to the Church. As a woman born into unfavorable circumstances she worked her way from life under a Druid, to the founding of two monastic institutions and a school of art. It was at her school of art that the Book of Kildare was said to have been “beautifully illuminated”, according to Catholic Online. It was also speculated that St. Brigid and Saint Patrick were great friends and together, accomplished amazing charitable works.
