Father Richard Erikson hosts blink! segments on CatholicTV Commemorating Veterans Day

WATERTOWN, Mass. (November 2, 2015) - Throughout the month of November, CatholicTV honor Veteran’s Day premiering a military “Blink!” segments; a special CatholicTV Showcase block and a mini marathon featuring Veterans Day themed programs.

Throughout the month of November CatholicTV will air special military “Blink!” segments by Father Richard Erikson, Ph.D. (Ch, Brig Gen, USAFR) called “No Greater Love”. The segments tie into All Souls Month as well as Veterans Day by highlighting the ministry and life of Saints that served in the military. Fr. Erikson is a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston and a reserve chaplain endorsed by the Archdiocese for the Military Services. He currently serves as the Pastor at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Sudbury, Mass. as well as the Mobilization Assistant to the Air Force Chief of Chaplains at the Pentagon. See Fr. The Miracle of Father Kapaun will air during CatholicTV’s Showcase block on November 6th. The documentary takes a look at the miraculous recovery of college athlete, Chase Kear whose survival is attributed to his family’s prayers to Father Kapaun, a former U.S. Army Chaplain and a hero of the Korean War. For God and Country will air in the second half of the CatholicTV Showcase block on November 6th. The documentary explores the life of Father Aloysius Schmitt, a Navy Chaplain that served on the USS Oklahoma and passed away on the ship during a Japanese attack. He was the first Chaplain to pass away in World War II. This program will air Friday, November 6th at 10:30 p.m. For more information on Fr. On Veterans Day CatholicTV will air a mini Veterans Day Marathon featuring, “Grunt Padre”, “For God and Country” and “Archbishop Hannan’s A Soldier of God” “ Join us on November 11th from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to honor those who served on Veteran’s Day.
