MA Market Worker Continues Christmas Caroling Tradition In Store

Watertown's Russo's is once again putting their employee's talent on display this holiday season for customers to enjoy.

WATERTOWN, MA — Watertown's Russo's market is back at it this holiday season, displaying the talent of their employee and former viral hit, Gilly. Two years ago, Gilly and the store made headlines when he used a simple mic check to sing "O Holy Night."

Guilherme Assuncao, known as "Gilly," wowed his employers and customers with his operatic voice in 2017. Now, Gilly is with Russo's once again and sharing his voice with customers for the holiday season. The market published a video of Gilly belting "Ave Maria" in front of customers a few weeks ago.

Instead of an impromptu performance, the song was part of a planned event set up by Russo's. Gilly was again surrounded by cameras, phones and customers enjoying the sounds of the season. Reactions flooded the Russo's Facebook page, including one customers who said "Thank you so much for this! It's become my family's favorite holiday tradition."
