Man Arrested After Argument on MBTA Bus Escalates
A Watertown man allegedly punched another man on Galen Street within sight of a Watertown Police Officer.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Watertown man after he allegedly punched a man after getting into an argument on an MBTA bus.
A Watertown Police officer was on detail duty on Galen Street near Maple Street when he spotted two men yelling obscenities at each other, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
"One of the males approached another male and was yelling and screaming at him," Lawn said. "One attepted to leave and (the suspect) approached him and punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground."

The officer placed the suspect under arrest, Lawn said. The argument started on an MBTA bus, he added.
Phillip Lane, 33, of 32 Whites Ave. Apt. 33D in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery, Lawn said.
