Man Arrested on OUI Charge After he Crashed into the Boys & Girls Club
Driver allegedly fell asleep when he hit three cars and then ran into the building.

A Watertown man faces drunken driving charges after he allegedly hit three parked cars and damaged a fence and bushes at the Boys & Girls Club.
On Sept. 3 at 10:40 p.m., an officer went to Whites Avenue after a report of an accident, and found a vehicle that had crashed up against the Boy & Girls Club on Whites Avenue, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
“It had struck three motor vehicles, and damaged bushes and a fence at the Boys & Girls Club,” Lawn said.

The side of the Boys & Girls Club building also had some minor scrapes.
The driver may have dozed off, Lawn said, and when the officer spoke to the driver, an odor of alcohol was detected on the man’s breath.

Field sobriety tests were given, and the driver was placed under arrest, Lawn said.
“John Nicholas Shields Jr., 19, of 29 Priest Road in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
