Man Suspected of Trying to Rob Tedeschi's Arrested After Being Stopped by Boston College Police

The man who allegedly tried to rob the Watertown convenience store was detained by Boston College Police after allegedly trying to take copper downspouts.

The man suspected of on May 17 with a knife was detained later the same day by Boston College 

The suspect wore a motorcycle helmet with a full face shield during the robbery, but Watertown Police identified a suspect after watching security video from Tedeschi's said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"Detectives went back and looked at video tape from earlier in the morning, and they were able to see a male fitting a description on a white Vespa scooter in the store about an hour before the robbery," Lawn said.

The suspect was identified as James Case, 42, of Hull, Lawn said.

Later that afternoon, Boston College Police contacted Watertown authorities after detaining a man who fit the description of the Tedeschi robber.

"They informed us they had stopped a man on the Boston College Law School campus in Newton on a white scooter," Lawn said. "They were detaining him for possibly trying to steal the copper downspouts from buildings on the BC campus."

BC Police brought Case to the Watertown Police Station where he was arrested on a charge of attempted armed robbery while being masked, Lawn said.
