Faneuil Hall Marketplace and CBS Boston's WBZ-TV Present "Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular"

What: Faneuil Hall Marketplace and CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV will present the season’s first Holiday Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 22nd .The festivities will be televised during a live one-hour long program, “Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular” at 8:00p.m., on CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV Ch. 4 and rebroadcast on myTV38 (WSBK-TV) at 10:00p.m.

The “Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular “will be co-hosted by WBZ-TV News anchors Lisa Hughes and David Wade and include segments with WBZ-TV News’ Sports Director Steve Burton and Chief Meteorologist Eric Fisher as well as anchors Paula Ebben and Jonathan Elias. The program will feature holiday musical performances by the Tanglewood Festival Chorus conducted by Maestro Keith Lockhart and a performance of The Nutcracker by the Boston Ballet. Mayor Martin J. Walsh will join the festivities by reciting “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and he will be on hand to help “flip the switch” to light the nearly 90-foot holiday tree, located at Marketplace Center adjacent to Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The event also kicks off the New England Patriots Annual Holiday Toy Drive for which Faneuil Hall Marketplace will be a drop-off location for toy donations for needy children.

Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a massive Candy Land tournament to benefit Pitching in For Kids. Entertainment begins at 2 p.m. with performances throughout the afternoon, leading up to the “Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular” at 8:00 p.m.

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Candy Land Tournament in the Upper Rotunda to benefit Pitching In For Kids. Kids and Families will play the classic game to win prizes. Treats, entertainment and arts and crafts will also be provided.

2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. - Arrival of Santa Claus, caroling by The Christmas Revels, and musical performances by the Sugar Babies, American Idol’s Jilly Martin presented by the Hard Rock Cafe, the Scullers Jazz Club and more!

7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Pre show entertainment with the Sugarbabies Band

8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. -“Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular” on WBZ-TV Ch. 4
