New American, French Restaurant Opens in Watertown

Restaurant owners of Royal have opened up a fundraising campaign to help raise money to pass inspection.

The newest restaurant in Watertown plans to serve breakfast “boulangerie” style on “sexy plates” starting early January.

Owners Rachid Korda and Melanie Nye have worked to renovate the restaurant by themselves.

Before Korda and Nye can open their New American and French cuisine restaurant, they are in need of some extra funds to pass inspection.

Korda and Nye are looking to raise $23,000 worth of kitchen equipment to comply with the Town of Watertown health codes.

The two started a fundraising campaign to raise money for the restaurant’s needed expenses. Find out more information on the restaurant and the fundraising details on the Royal fundraising page on Kickstarter.

Those who contribute to Royal’s fundraising page will be given various rewards including meals, parties, coffee, the chance to be chef for a day, behind the scenes visits and more.

The campaign ends Monday, Dec. 22.
