New Center Live! Presents Mark Leibovich: Capital Follies

The New
Center for Arts & Culture
presents, a
discussion with author and chief national correspondent for The New York Times
Magazine, Mark Leibovich,
to talk about his new book This Town. The best-selling book
undresses our nation’s capital to expose an outrageous—and outrageously
funny—world of egotism, rivalry, dishonesty, and double-dealing, a world in
which funerals become social events and every party is a circus.

Leibovich will talk with Boston Globe editorial
page editor, Peter Canellos, about life inside the Beltway and how politicians
and the media both compete and conspire to create a toxic culture.

Prior to coming to the Times Magazine, Leibovich was
a national political reporter in the Times' DC bureau. He has also
worked at The Washington Post, The San Jose Mercury News and The
Boston Phoenix,
and is the author of The New Imperialists, a
collection of profiles on technology pioneers.
