"Three Viewings" Opens at the Arsenal Center for the Arts
Three witty and poignant tales touch on how death affects the living.

This weekend, New Repertory Theatre presents its latest production: Three Viewings, a play by award-winning playwright Jeffrey Hatcher that explores love, money, and loss.
The show, directed by Jim Petosa, features three actors, each delivering a monologue while inside a funeral parlor in a small Midwestern town. These three tales are darkly funny yet poignant and touching.
"Through three separate narratives, Hatcher explores how love, money, and compassion define individual relationships and perceptions of life," says Director Jim Petosa on the New Rep’s website. "I am thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and design team, and I am excited to see what we will discover as we collaborate as a team on this work."

The show opens with Emil, a mortician played by Joel Colodner. While delivering his monologue, the audience discovers the extraordinary lengths he takes in order to win the heart of a real estate broker who sells her services to the bereaved. Next, we meet Mac, the daughter of an upper-class family played by Christine Power. Mac often frequents the funeral home to steal jewelry from corpses. Her latest trip involves reclaiming a family heirloom. Finally, there’s Virginia, a newly widowed suburbanite played by Adrianne Krstansky who confronts the repercussions of her late husband’s wheeling and dealing.
New Repertory Theatre has been performing shows at the Arsenal Center for the Arts since 2005. Three Viewings will be performed in the 90-seat Black Box Theatre.
