This workshop for girls in grades 2-5
will be a hands-on afternoon of fun as participants build, create,
and solve engineering problems together.
At this Novel Engineering* workshop, we will read a story, and then participants will use information from the text as a resource to plan and build a solution to the character's problem.
This workshop will be led by Alisa
Berger - Director of the Lower School and author of How to
Innovate: The Essential Guide for Fearless School Leaders, Claire
Caine - Information Technology Administrator, and Samara Hendin - 5th
grade teacher.

*Novel Engineering is an integrated
approach to teach engineering and literacy. As part of Novel
Engineering, students use literature as a basis for an engineering
design challenge, drawing from the text to identify and solve
engineering problems in books by considering characters as clients,
and using details from the story to impose constraints.
