PHOTO: Belmont Savings Sponsors Annual Watertown Education Foundation Spelling Bee

Belmont Savings Bank again sponsored the Watertown Education Foundation Spelling Bee on Sunday, January 25 at the Watertown Middle School. The Bank provided the Foundation with a $4,000 check for the Watertown Education Rewards Checking account.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade showed off their spelling skills during the competition. Belmont Savings staff was on hand meeting with parents, and spoke with them about supporting Watertown Public Schools. The Bank raffled off a Kindle Fire at their table.

This was the fifth year of the spelling bee in Watertown.

The Watertown Education Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that engages the community in supporting excellence and enrichment in the Watertown Public School System. Since 2011, Belmont Savings and the Belmont Savings Bank Foundation have given nearly $15,000 to the Watertown Education Foundation.

Watertown Education Rewards Checking is a unique checking account created in support of the Watertown Public Schools. For each new account that is opened at Belmont Savings Bank, the WEF receives $50 and the account holder receives $50. In addition, the WEF earns .25% on all account balances.
