Pilates and Yoga Nearby: Bodytrio
Work up a sweat at a Belmont studio which offers a variety of choices, an abundance of support and a spirit of humanity.
Perched at the tip of Belmont Center at 21 Alexander Avenue, Bodytrio offers yoga, Pilates, and personal training to clients of all ages and abilities. Owner Donna Ognibene, a former gymnast, marathon runner and certified middle school teacher, brings together her extensive knowledge of health and fitness practices and her love of teaching and serving others.
Vibe: Bodytrio is low-key, welcoming and supportive. There is little of the competitive feeling of a large gym, but the workouts are powerful and sweat inducing. The studio is comfortable and very clean. After private instruction I feel powerful and strong, amazed at what the instructor can pull from me.
Cool factor No. 1: Mat classes hold ten or so clients. With less people in a class there is more opportunity for the instructor to view and support the students. Emphasis is on alignment, precision, and breath.

Cool factor No. 2: Along with more traditional yoga and Pilates classes, special offerings include weekly men’s only, teen, and kids classes. New offerings include BarSculpt, an exercise class utilizing mats, weights, bands and the barre to burn fat while toning. Instructors are certified and very experienced, with the ability to work with disabilities and pregnancy.
