Police Have Suspect for Larceny at Watertown Home Depot

Man took items, put them in cart and tried to return them for a refund, but when refused stole the items.

Watertown Police have a suspect in a set of robberies at Home Depot.

A man placed $654-worth of merchandise in his cart at the Home Depot in the Arsenal Mall and left the store with the items, said Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

On Dec. 8, a man went into the store and took items off the shelf and put them in a shopping cart.

"He opened the items then brought them to the return desk to return them, but the store refused," Lawn said. "He took the items, got into the car and fled, but the store security was able to get a license plate number."

Police are investigating the suspect, and they found two gift cards for returns of items at other Home Depot locations, Lawn said. They continue to investigate, Lawn said.
