Many artists create portraits as a way of capturing the likeness or essence of an individual. Often these portrayals become more than just an image, but an interpretation of self. With this multi-media exhibition of portrait and figurative work, the Arsenal Center explores how artists express identity as well as the tension that exists between our sense of self and how we are perceived.
