Powerball One-on-One: Watertown vs. Chicopee
Chicopee may have hit the jackpot and boasts the World Kielbasa Festival, but it doesn't have that field hockey team.

Located some 87 miles apart, Chicopee and Watertown don't have much in common. Here's a look at the two Massachusetts communities, one with the bigger winner in Powerball (Chicopee), one with Miss Congeniality (Watertown).
- Chicopee is a city, governed by Mayor Richard Kos. Watertown is a "town," and governed by a Town Manager and Town Council.
- Chicopee is located on the Connecticut River, Watertown on the Charles River.
- Chicopee has 55,591 residents according to the 2016 Census. Watertown checks in at 35,025 as of 2016.
- Watertown is where the Boston Marathon bombers fled to and were ultimately caught. Chicopee has avoided similar fame, but the annual World Kielbasa Festival has been a fixture since 1974.
- In 1630, a group led by Sir Richard Saltonstall, rowed up the Charles River from Charlestown and established the settlement that became Watertown. Chicopee's history is a little more complicated. The city is named after the Chicopee River and the word "Chicopee" comes from the Nimpuc people, the first to live in the region.
- The Watertown High field hockey team won its eighth straight state title last fall and has a national record winning streak of 183 games. Chicopee High doesn't have a field hockey team.
- While Chicopee voted in support of Hillary Clinton, 12,338 to 9,841 votes, Watertown was a much greater supporter of Clinton, voting 13,166 to 3,941 in her favor.
- If you like weed, then Watertown is your place. Watertown voted in support of Question 4 (legalizing marijuana), 60.3 percent yes to 39.7 no. Chicopee voted in support of legalized marijuana too, but by a slimmer margin or 53.8 percent to 46.2.
