Project BILD: Brain Imaging Language Development

The Gabrieli Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Research on Autism and Developmental Disorders Group at Boston University are currently conducting a study on learning and language use. Our goal is to investigate the brain basis of language and reading abilities and deficits.

We are looking for children and teenagers (aged 5 to 17) with and without reading and language difficulties to participate in our research.
The study involves 2 to 4 visits to MIT for language tests and safe, child-friendly MRI brain imaging. Total testing time includes approximately 4 hours of behavioral assessments and 2 hours of non-invasive, radiation-free fMRI scanning. After the fMRI visit, each participant will get pictures of his or her brain to take home.Participants will be compensated $20/hour for behavioral testing and $30/hour for fMRI scanning.
