RMV Systems Down; ID Business Limited
"Please consider non-urgent license/ID business on another day."

MASSACHUSETTS – The Registry of Motor Vehicles is having a system issue, the agency tweeted Friday. Due to a national database problem, the department is unable to process permit, license or ID business for customers with a US passport or immigration document to prove they are in the country legally.
Customers may only verify lawful presence with their U.S. birth certificates. The RMV recommends non-urgent license/ID business be postponed to another day.
Registrations were not impacted, according to the RMV.
