Somerville Man Caught Trying to Break into Car in Watertown
The Arlington Street residents heard the man trying to break into a car, and followed him until police arrived.

Some residents on Arlington Street heard a noise on Nov. 13 at 11:28 p.m., and when they went out to see what it was they spotted a man trying to break into their car.
The resident came out and confronted the suspect, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
"The suspect walked past him and knocked (the resident) down," Lawn said. "The resident called police and followed the man until police stopped him."

When police questions the suspect, identified as Somerville resident Beau C. Bedugnis, they found items missing from other cars that had been broken into in the area earlier that night, Lawn said.
Bedugnis took a backpack from a car on Arlington Street, as well as CDs, two tape measures, two pairs of sunglasses and a set of keys, Lawn said. He also had a knife on him.

Police arrested Bedugnis, 31, of 21 Moore St. Apt. 3 in Somerville, on charges of nighttime breaking and entering, larceny of property worth more than $250, assault and battery, carrying a dangerous weapon and receiving stolen property, Lawn said.
