Suspect Sought in Watertown Bank Robbery
Police were called to the Santander Bank on Main Street Wednesday afternoon after employees activated the alarm and customers called 911.
WATERTOWN, MA - Police are searching for a man they said robbed a Watertown bank Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to the Santander Bank at 75 Main St. shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The suspect allegedly approached the teller and began speaking Portuguese before switching to English and demanding money.
He was handed an unspecified amount of cash and fled west down Main Street, police said.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall male with dark facial hair, wearing a dark colored jacket, dark pants, Boston Red Sox baseball hat, dark sunglasses and grey sneakers.
The incident is under investigation by the Watertown Police Department in conjunction with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Watertown Police Department at (617) 972-6500.
