The Straddler Generation Stands Up

Brigitte Gabrielle grew up in war torn Lebanon; at the age of 10 a rocket fell on her home. She now speaks from her experience on fighting terrorism which has come to our own back yards.

While some of us were watching the second Markey-Gomez debate as a storm system pelted us with even more rain a special breed of people were traveling through heavy downpours to fill the Portuguese Club in Hudson, drawn to hear a remarkable speaker who despite three flight cancelations and the loss of her luggage, was standing before them, barely five feet tall but fully engaged in a fierce battle for the safety and honor of her adopted country.

Because of the lack of honorable leadership in our government patriots came, eager to hear Brigitte Gabriel’s story which explains how she became a tower of strength and voice of sanity in a world rapidly going insane.

I first heard her speak in 2004 when I attended a media summit in San Antonio. I was impressed with her then and spoke briefly with her when she signed her memoir Because They Hate which tells of her abbreviated childhood as a Christian in Lebanon when a rocket fired by Islamic terrorists took aim on her peaceful, Christian village landed on her home. The rocket injured her and turned her childhood home into a bunker for the next seven years of her life. She asked her father why they were doing this and his reply was…”Because they hate Christians and want to kill us.”

Eventually after Lebanon was claimed by jihadists she came to America and had the same answer for her own daughter who asked “Why are they doing this , mummy?” after seeing the towers fall repeatedly on the TV after 9-11.

As a journalist and new American citizen savoring the sight, sound and smell of a freedom she had not known since she was ten years old she was not about to stay silent. She began speaking to groups small and large like the over 500 gathered to hear her define the “world-wide problem” of Islamic terrorism recounting the history of attacks since 1979 and Iran’s taking US citizens hostage, bombing of Marines in 1983, attack on the World Trade Center in ’93 and a tally of 226 arrests of home-based Muslim terrorists she sees the tepid US response as “intellectual suicide” and “lack of imagination”. Basically we as a nation can’t imagine anyone wanting to eradicate us because of our Christian values despite the fact that we have been told often and in no uncertain terms what our enemy intends to do revealing a 100- year plan to infiltrate and dominate the West.

Gabriel has spearheaded a world-wide organization, ACT for America <actforAmerica@AOL.com> which couples education and action with several chapters in New England and has passed legislation in several states.

Europe is now Eurabia with Shariah Law operating in its courts and 725 No-go Zones in France where authorities will not go. She likens the problem of Islamification as stage 4 cancer in Europe while it is stage 2 here in America.

When she asked all the veterans in the room to rise about a hundred stood to be recognized and thanked for their contribution to protecting and defending our Constitution.  The “Straddler Generation” is old enough to remember better days. They are concerned parents and grandparents grateful for Gabriel’s true heroism gave her a standing ovation upon arrival and ending her remarks.

Without the benefit of notes Gabriel clarified the mission and brought an army of foot soldiers to its feet. She has inspired a quarter of a million members in 800 chapters nation-wide who will

burn up the phone lines and counteract the plague of Political Correctness in Washington which has brought such danger to our very back yards.
