Thief Steals $75,000 Worth of Copper From Old Ionics Building in Watertown
A witness spotted a man running from the area, and noticed the copper was missing.

A man removed $75,000 worth of copper from the old Ionics building property on Arsenal Street in Watertown on Oct. 9 at 9:16 a.m., but got away before he could be stopped.
A witness saw a man running from the property, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
"Officers spoke with an employee who observed a white male, age 40 to 50, with short black hair and a tool box stealing copper," Lawn said.

The man ran through the parking lot of the property behind the old Ionics building and escaped onto Parker Street, Lawn said.
The employee reported that the missing copper was worth $75,000, Lawn said.
