Three Nabbed for Late-Night Motorcycle Theft in Watertown

A resident spotted two men and a woman putting the motorcycle in the back of a pickup truck.

Watertown Police caught three people who tried to steal a motorcycle on Aug. 5, with the help of an observant neighbor.

Police received a call at 4:46 a.m. from someone who saw something suspicious going on at Rutland Street and Waltham Street, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.

"A neighbor hears something and looks out the window to see two black males escorting a motorcycle across the street," Grady said.

The men lifted the motorcycle on the back of a black pick-up truck and leave the area, Grady said.

Police officers caught up with the pick-up on Pleasant Street near the entrance, Grady said, and pulled the vehicle over. Two men and a woman were arrested.

Todd E. Hicks, 39, of 4 Oakhurst St. in Dorchester; Shannon M. Boon, 28, of 53 Jersey Ave. in Braintree and Charles E. Jacobs, 35, of 25 Alpine St. in Roxbury, all face a charge of larceny of a motorvehicle, Grady said.

The witness was key to the arrest, Grady said.

"A heads-up neighbor gave us the information in a timely manner to get the gusy in the area and wrap up (the case)," Grady said.
