Waltham Man Arrested After Allegedly Doing Drugs in Dunkin Donuts Bathroom

Police were called after a couple went into the bathroom for an extended period of time.

Workers at in East Watertown called police on April 27 at 1:30 p.m. after a man and woman went into the bathroom for a long period and had not come out, and when police rousted the couple they allegedly found the man had a syringe.

Police first cleared the couple out of the bathroom, out of the store and onto the street so they could question them, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady. 

"The gentleman dropped something into the storm drain," Grady said. "Officers discovered a syringe which, I guess you would say, was loaded and ready."

The officers used a test and found that the substance in the syringe was heroin, Grady said.

Patrick J. Faherty, 27, of 27 Lexington St. in Waltham, was arrested on a charge of possession of a Class A substance, Grady said.
