Watertown Baseball and Girl's Softball held their annual banquet last night, Sept 9th, at the Son's of Italy. This was the first year that Youth Softball has participated in the annual banquet ~ and it was a smashing success. The guest speaker for the night was Jerry York -Boston College Hockey Coach who has won 4 NCAA Division 1 Hockey Championships. Coach York is also a former WYBB player and star athlete from WHS. Coach York emphasized to the girls and boys about being a good teammate and having a positive attitude. He also spoke about making good quick decisions that could affect your long term choices.
Joining the baseball Majors and AAA players were our 10U and 12U softball players. During the night we had two players who earned the annual Sportsmanship Award. Winning the Award for Softball was Catherine Papayannopoulus, and for Baseball the award went to Kevin Demore. Pictures from the evening are attached...
