Watertown Cemetery Vandalized: Headstones, Monument Knocked Over
Police said several headstones and a monument dedicated to the Marist Missionary Sisters were tipped over.
WATERTOWN, MA – Police in Watertown are investigating what is being called an act of vandalism at a local cemetery Tuesday night. The incident was reported at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 925 Belmont St.
In total, seven headstones and one monument dedicated to the Marist Missionary Sisters were intentionally knocked over, police said. The act, which police referred to as a "disturbing crime," is currently under investigation.
Anyone with information about the crime, or who noticed suspicious activity at the cemetery within the last 48 hours, is asked to call the Watertown Police Department at 617-972-6500.
