Watertown Fight Leaves Waltham Man Shot In The Leg

The man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

WATERTOWN, MA — A fight on Tuesday night in Watertown left one man with a gunshot wound in his leg, stumbling into a nearby business. Police said the man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The call came to police just before 11:30 p.m. about a fight happening on Pleasant Street. Once police arrived the fight was over and people were clearing out, according to police. One man lingering in an alley nearby was taken into protective custody after police noticed he was heavily intoxicated.

Police were called to a nearby business around 1:15 a.m. The business said a man stumbled into the office with an apparent injury. The man was a 21-year-old from Waltham who had been shot in the lower part of his left leg. He was taken to Beth Israel Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident but said they are sure it was not a random act — everyone involved was acquaintances, police said. Anyone with information should call Watertown Police.
