Watertown Fire Crew Heads to Springfield to Deal with Tornado Aftermath
Three members of the Watertown Fire Department will conduct search and rescue in Springfield.

Three members of the Watertown Fire Department joined the effort to find victims of Wednesday's devastating tornado in Springfield.
One of Watertown's engine companies – a captain and two firefighters – were called up by state officials as part of the Structural Firefighting Task Force District 13 at 6 a.m. Thursday morning, said Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio.
"They will be under the command of the Springfield Fire Department and can perform any firefighting/rescue services needed," Orangio said. "Currently, they are conducting search and rescue operations in the affected area."

In all, five fire engines and their crews from the area deployed to Springfield, Orangio said, with other crews from Belmont, Waltham, Newton and Weston.
