Watertown Fire Log: Sept. 26 to Oct. 2

Woman hurt in motorcycle accident, man resuscitated after an overdose and a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Sept. 27, 7:36 a.m.: A woman hurt her left should and right side when she fell off her motorcycle in an accident on Greenough Boulevard, near Grove Street. An off-duty firefighter helped the woman before Watertown fire crews arrived. The woman was immobilized on a backboard with her helmet on, and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Sept. 27, 1:38 p.m.: Firefighters went to Fayette Street for a report of a man overdosing on prescription drugs. Firefighters found the man not breathing and with no heartbeat. They gave him CPR and used a defibrillator machine. After about two minutes the man began breathing and his pulse returned. The man was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

Sept. 29, 6:21 p.m.: A tree branch fell and knocked down cable and telephone wires.

Sept. 30, 8:23 a.m.: A woman was struck by a vehicle on Arsenal Street at Coolidge Avenue. When fire crews arrived the woman was conscious and sitting on the sidewalk. She was checked for injuries and then was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

Oct. 1, 11:16 a.m.: A man was seen driving on the sidewalk on Common Street. Firefighters found he had no injuries but seemed confused. He was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital for treatment.

Oct. 1, 2:49 p.m.: Firefighters treated a woman who had been stabbed in the back behind her right shoulder. . She was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital.

Oct. 1, 3:45 p.m.: A Common Street resident reported smoke coming from a neighbor’s house. Firefighters found it was coming from material burning in outside in a container. They told the person outside burning is not permitted and the women put out the fire with a garden hose.
