Watertown Man Allegedly Kicked Police Officers While Being Arrested

Police responded to an argument in the street and one of the men would not go quietly.

A 24-year-old Watertown man faces two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly kicked two police offices when they attempted to arrest him.

Police were called because two men were arguing loudly at the corner of Sawin and Cottage Streets at 2:17 a.m. on April 7, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. One of the men was identified as Trevor C. Powell.

"Both were intoxicated, and when police arrived Powell became beligerent," Lawn said. "He was screaming at them, calling them obscenities. People were coming out of their houses."
