Watertown Man Arrested for Allegedly Pulling a Knife on a Man on Lovell Road

The man threatened with a knife owed money to a friend of the suspect.

A man was arrested Sunday for allegedly threatening another man with a knife on Lovell Road on Sunday at 6:42 p.m., and demanding money from him.

The man who was threatened owed money to a friend of the suspect, and the man came to collect, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The man only had $80.

“The suspect demanded $20 more, and he pulled a knife and stated ‘run your pockets,’” Lawn said. “He meant, empty your pockets.”

Police could not determine why the man owed the money, Lawn said.

The man who was threatened ran into his house and called police.

When officers arrived, they talked to the man and had him call his friend back. The suspect returned to the house and police arrested him.

Gary Dana Walsh, 22, of 45 Riverside St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, was arrested on charges of armed assault to rob and assault with a dangerous weapon, Lawn said.
