Watertown Man Busted with 7 Pounds of Marijuana, Other Drugs

Watertown Police arrested a Chester Street man for intent to distribute marijuana.

Watertown Police arrested a 33-year-old Watertown man after they found 7 pounds of marijuana, as well as LSD and Extasy in his Chester Street home.

Police received a search warrant for 9 Chester Street after an investigation in which Watertown worked with the Framingham Police and the U.S. Postal Service, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. They served the warrant on Oct. 29 at 1:23 a.m.

"Officers located approximately 7 pounds of marijuana packaged in a variety of packaging, and small amounts of LSD and Exctasy," Lawn said.

Because the house is near Watertown High School, a charge of distributing drugs near a school will also be applied, Lawn said.

Lawrence A. Clifford, 33, of 9 Chester St. in Watertown, faces charges of possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a Class B drug and a drug violation near a school, Lawn said.
