Watertown Man Dies Swimming off Martha's Vineyard
Michael Romm went into cardiac arrest off Norton Point in Edgartown.

A Watertown man died in a swimming incident off the coast of Martha's Vineyard on Saturday afternoon.
Lifeguards, police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday for a call about a male and female companion in distress in the water. The swimmers were pulled out of the water by private boaters before emergency personnel could arrive.
The man, Michael Romm, then apparently went into cardiac arrest, according to police. He was administered CPR and taken to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The female swimmer, who has not been identified, was not injured in the incident, said police.
