Watertown Officer Awarded For Saving Life At Sports Club

Officer Harold "Tony" Physic received the First Responder Recognition Award for his heroics in January.

WATERTOWN, MA – A Watertown police officer was honored last week for his lifesaving efforts at a local sports club in January. Officer Harold "Tony" Physic received the First Responder Recognition Award at the MPTC CPR/First Responder Recognition Awards Ceremony June 8.

Physic saved the life of a person who collapsed and was unresponsive at a sports club on Jan. 19. He determined the man to be in full cardiac arrest and began chest compressions while club staff retrieved a defibrillator. Physic continued CPR until he was relieved by the Watertown Fire Department and paramedics.

Because of his quick thinking, the man survived going into cardiac arrest.
