Watertown Police Announce Promotion of Two Members of the Force

The two promoted officers will have supervisor roles on the Watertown Police Department's night patrol division.

Two members of the Watertown Police Department promoted to members of the force, recently, one to sergeant and one to lieutenant. 

At a ceremony at the Watertown Police Station, Chief Edward Deveau promoted Sgt. James O’Connor to lieutenant and Detective Kenneth Delaney to sergeant. 

O’Connor has served for a dozen years, and was recently assigned to the Patrol Division as a day patrol supervisor and his new assignment will be as an Officer in Charge in the night patrol division.

Delaney, a 5-year veteran of the police department, was recently assigned to the Detective Division. He will now be the patrol supervisor of the night patrol division. 

The two replace retired members of the Watertown Police, Lt. Bob Patey and Sgt. Joe Deignan, according to Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

The promotions took place on Thursday January 12, 2012 in the community room of the Police Station.
