Watertown Police Catch Pair with Items Stolen from Cars

The two men had GPS devices, binoculars and sunglasses on them when police searched them.

A Watertown Police officer spotted two young men acting suspiciously as they were walking on Arsenal Street near School Street at 4:24 a.m. on Nov. 3, and discovered items they had taken from cars in the area.

The officer searched the two men, identified as Fredy Rene Arbaiza, 18, and Alvaro M. Archila, 19, both of Brighton, and found the items, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"They were pat searched for weapons, and discovered GPS devices in their pockets," Lawn said. "The officers discovered stole items from motor vehicles on Frank Street in Watertown."

The two men had three GPS devices, two pairs of sunglasses, two pairs of earplugs, two pairs of binoculars and a bag of coins, Lawn said.

Arbaiza, of 77 Warren St. in Brighton, and Archila, of 39 Turner St. Apt. 2 in Brighton, were each charged with nighttime breaking and entering and receiving stolen property worth more than $250, Lawn said.
