Watertown Police Hiring Crossing Guards for the Coming School Year

Are you interested in ensuring kids safely arrive at school? Here's how to apply.

WATERTOWN, MA – The Watertown Police Department is looking for crossing guards to help kids get to school safely this year.

Responsibilities include monitoring vehicle and pedestrian traffic at assigned intersections, assisting students in crossing the street and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.

Crossing guards must be able to stand for the entire shift and tolerate exposure to all types of weather conditions.

In order to be considered, a high school diploma or GED is required. Guards work in shifts of approximately one hour, twice a day, Monday through Friday.

Guards must also pass a CORI background check and pre-employment physical ahead of their participation.

Salary for crossing guards is $14.90 per hour; applications may be submitted online here or picked up at the Personnel Office in Town Hall.
